Service Description
Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of nature and activate your senses -- including the sense of creativity. When we go to Nature slowly, silently, we find space, and in that space we begin to notice. And in the noticing, ideas, words, motion, freedom, sensations, and pleasures of presence. We become alive in our senses -- the felt sense of the moment -- at once connecting with Nature, becoming rapt with her, and letting go all that the rational mind binds for us. And then, creativity can rise. In fact, spending more than four days immersed in nature can increase creativity by 50% Join Kate Bast of Shinrin-Yoku Madison on a gentle, easy forest bathing walk designed for creative types. The walk will proceed slowly and silently. We each will take the space we need to enjoy nature connection prompts, or invitations, from Kate that help us drop more deeply into the experience. Forest Bathing provides myriad health and wellbeing benefits, backed by evidenced-based research, if you need that. You perhaps you already know, Nature simply makes us feel good. We will walk a short distance, but sturdy shoes are important. Please dress for the weather, and bring an extra layer to stay comfortable and "dropped into" the experience. If it's cool, consider bringing a light blanket along. If you want to bring a journal, go for it, though we will not explore writing prompts. Bring a bottle of water or hot tea. Refreshments will be served at the end of the walk! Kate Bast is a certified nature and forest therapy guide, and founder of Shinrin-Yoku Madison, who stepped away from her frenzied editorial career in magazine publishing, to find the calm, the balm, meaning and connection with Nature. Today she provides therapeutic and just-plain-fun forest bathing experiences for individuals, groups, schools, organizations and businesses. Nature is her happy place.
