Service Description
Stillness. Staying in one place, in one moment at a time. It can be elusive. The art then, is finding it, even in the brisk pace of our daily lives. This retreat will guide you to it. You will experience three gentle practices that can bring you to stillness. Active “doings,” they lead to states of just being. Each follows a pattern and a process, drawing us deeper in. Yoga connects you with the body and breath. Forest Bathing grounds you in Nature, and activates your senses and presence. Artful experiences open space for expression and creativity. Each is a doing, an immersion, a noticing. The more we notice, the more we … notice – in ourselves, on the land, in the felt sense of a moment and experience. We become rapt, alive in our senses, deeply connected to the present moment. We let go of stress and anxieties. We tune down the rational mind that distracts us into the past or future. When we feel “in” our bodies, alive in our senses, absorbed in activity, the scurrying of the rational mind settles, and allows openings for other things to bubble up. Deep noticing brings with it perspectives, allowing our creativity to expand. These three practices help you recognize what stillness is for you, how it feels, and your map to it. No artistic skills necessary! The gorgeous 25-acre Driftless Area setting features rolling hills, trails, pond, prairie, studio. Early Bird: $139 with code WORM22 by Aug 31, 22!
